Pender County is a fast growing county with a 2012 population over 52,000. The county is well positioned for growth and development with strategic priorities related to economic development, expansion of public infrastructure, growth management, quality of life and education.

Pender County partners with Wilmington Industrial Development, Inc. (WID) to develop, expand, market and recruit business and industry to the county. WID is a private, non-profit organization designed to assist and make company's expansion/relocation efforts seamless. WID is also a SBA 504  loan provider.

Pender County takes a progressive and business-friendly approach to assisting companies create jobs and investment in the county. A variety of local and state economic incentive programs are available, and Pender County is well-positioned with its economic development partners and contacts to assist in business and industrial client expansions and locations.
