Economic opportunity and a higher standard of living are not achievable without a commitment to education. The Board has worked very hard to ensure a proactive and positive relationship with the Pender County School System and Cape Fear Community College. The County has committed over the years to funding capital facilities and current expenses for Pender County Schools at levels beyond minimum requirements. As well, the Board has made a significant financial commitment to help fund a new community college campus in Surf City. These investments, if sustained, will result in developing and maintaining a quality workforce in Pender County which is critical for promoting and ensuring economic development.
