The Coastal Orthoimagery 2016 Project, funded by the NC 911 Board, is underway. The NC Center for Geographic Information and Analysis (CGIA) is managing the project as part of a four-year update cycle to the previous cycle that ran from 2012 through 2015. The Coastal Orthoimagery Project is Phase 1 of 4 of this cycle that will deliver to 27 counties in January 2017 (Map 1).
Similar to the Statewide 2010 Orthoimagery Project and the 2012-2015 Orthoimagery Program (2012, 2013, 2014, 2015), CGIA delivers true color, 6-inch ground resolution orthoimagery, in uncompressed and compressed formats. The emphasis is to produce high resolution imagery to support 911 communications and base mapping in local governments. The imagery will be available online through the NC OneMap Geospatial Portal, through image services and downloadable data, the same as for the statewide 2010 project and the 2012-2015 program.

After recieving a few phone calls it has come to our attention that some users are experincing some technical difficulties while on the GIS website. There are no widespread issues at this time so it is recommended that you clear all of your history, cookies, etc from your computer and then restart your machine. Another recommendation to try is when the map document comes up to press ctrl + F5. This will reload the page. These two recommendations will fix most issues but please do not hesitate to contact us if you are still experiencing issues. The GIS Administrator can be reached at (910) 259-0129. Thank You!
If you have questions or have issues with the NEW GIS website, please email the GIS Administrator at email@example.com .
