Friends of the Library

Friends are citizens who value public library services and who volunteer to help their library. Friends operate with a self-elected board of directors who represent the community by the library. As 501 (c) (3) tax exempt non-profits, they raise additional money to fund extra programs and materials that the libraries otherwise could not afford.

The friends always welcome members and contributions to help the library. Each county library has a separate friends group. For the central library in Burgaw we have Friends of Pender County Library. At our Hampstead branch we have the Topsail Township Friends of the Library.

To find out how you can support the work of the friends, pick up a membership and contribution form at the library you wish to support. You can also mail a check to either friends group in care of either library address in Burgaw or Hampstead to the attention of “Friends.”

Our friends groups belong to NC Friends of Public Libraries
