Shelters and Evacuation

Being prepared to stay in a shelter will help reduce stress and make the stay less uncomfortable. All Pender County shelters are housed inside school buildings. Residents going to shelters need to take bedding, toiletries, medications, snacks and children’s items. For more information on how to prepare for sheltering, please visit our What to know when sheltering section on our Hurricane Florence Dashboard.
