The School Based Health Centers were established by a nonprofit group called Pender Alliance for Teen Health (PATH).  The centers make healthcare more accessible to students and their families.  The Pender County Health Department is the medical provider at each of the three School-Based Health Centers.   Children who are enrolled in the centers can seek medical attention right at school with our Family Nurse Practitioner. Coastal Horizons also offers  Behavioral/Mental Health and Counseling in our centers.

The School Based Health Centers offer the following services:

  • Annual Physicals (Including Sports Physicals and Well Child Checks)
  • Kindergarten Health Assessments
  • Sick Visits
  • Immunizations
  • Hearing and Vision Screenings
  • Behavioral/Mental Health
