How many years can taxes be delinquent before I have to worry about any type of legal action?

Anytime after the taxes become delinquent legal remedies can take place. They can be in various forms:

Garnishment of Wages,
Attachment of Bank Accounts
Attachment of Rents
Attachment of State Refunds
Seizure of Property
Foreclosure of property.

January 1 – 31 – Tax Listing of Personal Property
August – Tax Bills are mailed towards the end of the month, but prior to September 1
September 1 – Due Date for Real Estate and Personal Property (excluding registered motor vehicles)
January 5 – Last Day to Pay Real Estate and Personal Property Taxes to avoid interest, penalties, and legal remedies
January 6 – Interest begins on Real Estate and Personal Property Taxes (excluding motor vehicles) 2% January and ¾ % each month thereafter.
March – The first Wednesday in March the delinquent unpaid Real Estate Taxes are listed.
