PENDER COUNTY – All Pender County Solid Waste Convenience Center locations and the Hampstead Transfer Station remain closed due to flooding and power outages.
“We are attempting to open the Hampstead Convenience Center and Transfer Station on Wednesday, but that plan remains tentative at this time,” said Kenny Keel, Pender County Utilities director. “Once Hampstead is open, other convenience center sites will open on a case-by-case basis as routes are determined for material transport, and as power is restored to areas.”
Watch Pender County’s website at www.pendercountync.gov or an announcement on Pender County’s Facebook page. Or call the utilities department at 910-259-0212, when county offices re-open.
