BURGAW – Pender County Health Department congratulates Joan Taylor, FNP, for receiving her Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP). She earned her degree from Purdue University Global on Feb. 19.

“Obtaining a DNP was the next professional step in the continued process of ensuring the highest standard of quality care for my patients,” Taylor said. “With the DNP I feel like I have attained the highest level of proficiency to have a positive impact on the health outcomes of the community.”

Taylor obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and her Family Nurse Practitioner Degrees from East Carolina University. She was born and raised in Bladen County, and grew up near White Lake. Joan has been married 34 years and she resides in Bladen County with her husband and children.

Taylor, no stranger to public health, has more than 20 years of public health experience. She has been employed at the Pender County Health Department for two years where she provides acute and preventive care to children and adults.
