“We are monitoring Hurricane Isaias,” said McEwen. “We anticipate conducting an abbreviated Board of County Commissioners meeting at 4 p.m. For the safety of the public, staff, and commissioners only essential business will be conducted. All other agenda matters will be postponed until further notice.”
The Pender County Emergency Management operations center continues to monitor Hurricane Isaias, which may make landfall as a small Category 1 storm or a strong tropical storm on Monday night or early Tuesday morning.
“We urge all residents to prepare for possible strong winds, fallen trees, and power outages,” said McEwen. “Residents can stay updated on www.pendercountync.gov, Facebook, and local news outlets.”
