Safe Disposal Saves Lives: Medication Take Back Event
The Pender County Health Department, in partnership with Coastal Horizons, Rocky Point Pavilion Pharmacy, and the Pender County Sheriff’s Office, invites the community to participate in the upcoming Medication Disposal Event Take Back Day on Saturday, October 25, 2025.
This event is part of Operation Medicine Drop, a statewide initiative aimed at reducing the misuse of prescription drugs by offering safe, convenient, and anonymous ways to dispose of unused or expired medications.
Why It Matters:
Unused or expired medications can be dangerous if left in homes; they increase the risk of accidental poisoning, misuse, and environmental harm when not disposed of properly. Operation Medicine Drop helps protect families and the environment by ensuring these medications are destroyed safely.
