SafeFoodHandling_11072023

The N.C. Division of Public Health is highlighting the importance of food safety by sharing 4 essential food safety steps to prevent common foodborne illnesses. You can protect yourself by washing your hands, keeping raw meat away from other foods, fully cooking raw meats, and keeping your foods cold. For more information, visit the DPH blog post: https://www.dph.ncdhhs.gov/blog/2024/09/25/4-food-safety-tips-protect-yourself-foodborne-illnesses

The soon to be arriving cooler temperatures brings County fairs, footballs games, and other events that may have you cooking and handling food more than usually. Make sure you fully cook all raw meats to prevent foodborne illness. Use a food thermometer to check food temperatures when cooking.Check out some other food safety tips and find information on cooking temperatures here: https://www.fda.gov/food/buy-store-serve-safe-food/safe-food-handling

Special thanks to all our Food and Lodging folks for always promoting food safety and sharing their knowledge through their work and in their everyday contact with their communities.
