Parcel number 2266-21-8254-0000 located at 1352 Slocum Trail outside Currie that Pender County acquired on 07/21/2021 through tax foreclosure proceedings.  The parcel consists of a wooded lot on 0.82 of an acre.  The estimated tax value of the parcel is $8,650 in GIS.  Mrs. Ariel Russell has placed a bid offer of $8,600.  Upset Bids will be only be accepted through July 22 at 5:00pm.

Per NC General Statutes § 160A-269, the new bid must be the greater of either a $750.00 increase or 5% more than the outstanding bid.  For example if the 5% is equal to $1,000.00 then you would have to bid the $1,000.00 – not just the $750.00.  This bidding process could potentially go on for multiple cycles.

Invitation to Bid Pender County has issued an Invitation to Bid # 220511-228 for Water Treatment Chemical Ferric Sulfate and Invitation to Bid # 220511-229 Water Treatment Chemical Sodium Hydroxide. Bidders may bid on one or both chemicals.  A multi-tiered award may be made to a maximum of three (3) Vendors; a primary, secondary and tertiary Vendor for each chemical.  Any questions are due to Tom Hedrick at purchasing@pendercountync.gov by June 15^th, 2022 at 5pm. Bids are due no later than June 21^st, 2022 at 3pm in the Pender County Utilities front office located at PO Box 995, 605 E. Fremont St., Burgaw, NC  28425. Located at 100 E Church St in Atkinson NC (Parcel # 2248-94-8392-0000) is a General Store that was built in 1901 sitting on 0.06 acres zoned for commercial. The building size is 2,240 square feet. Property does have a shared septic system with the building next door that will need to be resolved with the owner next door and the building has structural issues with the roof that needs to be addressed as soon as possible.
