Immunization Clinic

The spread of vaccine preventable diseases presents a real threat to the health and quality of life of the citizens of Pender County. The goal of the health department’s immunization program is to eliminate vaccine-preventable diseases in the county. The health department’s staff works to ensure that individuals are age appropriately immunized. The immunization nurse conducts immunization monitoring to track all children who are due or past due for immunizations and actively works to get them up-to-date. The North Carolina Immunization Registry (NCIR) is a database composed of individuals reported to have received immunizations in the state. The immunization nurse is also responsible for ensuring that all immunizations are entered into the NCIR. The health department works with the State of North Carolina Immunization Branch to provide vaccines free of charge for uninsured and underinsured children in Pender County. Adult vaccines are offered at a set fee.

Pender County Health Department offers a Sliding Fee Scale Discount based on family size and income.  Please call 910-259-1230 for a Sliding Fee Scale Application.  No one will be denied services based on inability to pay.
