Mobile Dental
Pender County Health Department's Mobile Dental Clinic is equipped just like any high-tech dental office today. The convenience of the mobile dental truck allows children to visit a licensed dentist when in school. It is also available for staff members and members of the community.
Pender County Health Department's Mobile Dental offers services on a Sliding Fee Scale that is based on your household size and income. Medicaid, Medicare, Health Choice, and most private insurance are accepted.

Services Offered by Mobile Dental Clinic
Comprehensive Dental Exam
- We review your medical and dental history.
- Oral cancer examinations and periodontal evaluations are provided to check for gum and bone disease.
- Individual teeth are checked visually for cavities.
- A bite examination is performed to check for proper placement of teeth.
- X-rays will be done to check for hard-to-see cavities and bone loss.
Professional Teeth Cleaning
- Detects gum issues and pockets of bacteria.
- Helps prevent decay.
- Removes calculus. (hard plaque)
Dental Sealants
- Thin plastic coatings are applied to grooves on chewing surfaces of back teeth.
- Play an important role in helping to prevent cavities.
- Protect chewing surfaces from tooth decay by keeping germs and food particles out of grooves.
Composite Fillings (Tooth Colored)
We offer the newest composite fillings to match tooth color.

- Fluoride treatments make teeth strong and help protect them from decay.
